thank you
for joining us!
Here’s everything you need to know about presenting at the 2024 Carolina Meat Conference.
CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE
Now that we have discussed your session outline, we want to make sure we confirm your attendance - and start sharing your information with CMC attendees!
Fill out this short form to confirm your attendance and share your marketing materials — we’ll take care of the rest.
Once you’ve completed the form, our team will reach out to you when registration opens in early 2024 with your promotional code and additional details. For those who are eligible for compensation, our administrative team will reach out to you separately to confirm any honorariums and/or travel funding that may be available.
PLAN YOUR SESSION
It’s never too early to start thinking about your session! The event team behind CMC is proud of the passion and authenticity our speakers bring to this event.
Remember that we’re working with a wide audience of people from farmers all the way up the supply chain! There are more tips below for building a successful presentation plan.
If you need support finding additional presenters, are looking for a specific demonstration method, or have requests regarding your room and available materials, please reach out to our conference director, Emily Adair. We’ll be happy to help!
REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE
All presenters receive a free ticket to the conference, including all associated meals for the time that you plan to participate. Our speaker confirmation form will ask you to provide the dates you anticipate being an active participant at the conference, and you’ll receive a promotional code to use when registration opens.
The conference is being held in Boone, NC, at Appalachian State University on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 30-31, 2024. Some optional half-day sessions (not included in your comped registration ticket) will also be available on Monday, July 29.
Compensation
We compensate conference presenters with a complimentary registration to the event, which includes associated meals. Sometimes, we are able to support presenters with hotel accommodations, travel expenses, and/or modest stipends, depending on travel distance and financial need. Compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and someone will reach out to you in the coming weeks with additional information. Note: We do not cover travel expenses or hotel accommodations for conference sponsors or exhibitors.
A few notes on successful sessions
Workshops should not promote paid products and services. If you have a product or service to share, please check out our sponsorship opportunities at www.carolinameatconference.com/sponsors.
The confirmation form asks for a suggested title and a short session description. We may edit these slightly for publication in our print program.
It is important to our attendees that the session title and description - which are generally shared before the conference in marketing materials - match what you actually present at the conference. Please be sure you’re consistent in your session descriptions and preparation.
CMC attendees consistently rate presentations that go beyond lectures and slideshows the highest. We encourage you to think about presentations that include demonstrations, audience participation, interactive elements, and other methods that help attendees learn as much as they can.
If you have any other questions, we’re always happy to help you create a session that works for you — reach out to us and we’ll set a time to discuss!
important dates
You must submit the speaker confirmation form within two weeks of our original conversation, and no later than December 1, for consideration in this year’s program.
The last day to finalize your session content, title, and presenters is no later than April 1.
